Alexander, who turns 28 Wednesday, was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He performed 4 seasons with the Bucs, main the league in tackles in 2016 right before signing with the Niners in 2019. 

He was then traded to the New Orleans Saints in the course of his 2nd period.

Alexander claimed throughout a push convention with reporters on Monday that he was in talks with the Saints and the New York Giants right before finally selecting on the Jets. 

“I was familiar with the defense – enjoy coach Saleh, like the workforce, really like the fellas they introduced in,” he stated of his decision. “I enjoy the electrical power they had, they have some canine on the team. I wanted to occur be a part of it.”
