Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), who faces steep opposition from GOP management and a Trump-backed challenger, introduced her bid for reelection Thursday.

The Wyoming congresswoman, who was first elected to the Home in 2016 and is the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, is looking for her fourth time period.


“We’ve got completed a lot collectively during the last 5 years. We’ve got a lot left to do,” Cheney mentioned in a video. “As we work collectively to combat for Wyoming and the problems that matter to us, there are some issues you may depend on. After I know one thing is mistaken, I’ll say so. I will not waver or again down. I will not give up to strain or intimidation. And I do know that some issues aren’t on the market. That is the code of the West.”

Cheney is about to face a Republican main challenger in Harriet Hageman, who has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump and Home Minority Chief Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), on Aug. 16. The Wyoming Republican Get together has additionally admonished Cheney in latest months, voting in November to not acknowledge her as a member of the GOP.
