Comedian Dave Chappelle surprised fans as he opened for Chris Rock and Kevin Hart in New York City on Saturday.

Walking out unannounced as Radiohead’s Karma Police played, Chappelle joked he had to “sneak” his way in, referencing his canceled sold-out performance in Minnesota last week.

“Had to sneak my way in here,” Chapelle told the crowd, per TMZ. “Despite what you may have read about in the news, I’m OK, and I appreciate the support.”

Chappelle talked about getting tackled at the Hollywood Bowl, joking that he hoped his attacker would get monkeypox behind bars before adding, “not that he should die, but his a** should itch for four to six weeks.”

Rock and Hart took the stage and roasted Will Smith multiple times. Rock also blasted “cancel culture,” saying, “Anyone who says words hurt has never been punched in the face.”

The show ended with the three comedians standing together onstage joking about who was the greatest of all time.

“This is the worst night of this ‘goat’s’ life,” Chappelle said, after Hart claimed Rock was the best.
