Billy Horschel arrived to the defense of the PGA Tour and Commissioner Jay Monahan on Tuesday, accusing people who ditched the Tour for LIV Golf of being “hypocrites.”
A heated Horschel created the daring assertion for the duration of his press meeting with the media forward of the Scottish Open this week, a match that is co-sanctioned by European Tour and PGA Tour.
“I have been genuinely pissed off by it since you will find a ton of men that are hypocrites, that usually are not telling the real truth, that are lying about some items, and I just can not stand to sit in this article any longer and be diplomatic about it as I have been in the earlier,” he explained. “I don’t fault everyone for likely to enjoy the LIV tour. I really don’t have any ill will for everyone heading to engage in the LIV tour.”
JUSTIN THOMAS ON PGA TOUR DEFECTORS: ‘HAVE THE B—S TO SAY I’M Undertaking HIS FOR THE MONEY’
But Horschel reported his anger is reserved for those players that have criticized the Tour on their way out.
“Jay Monahan and everybody at headquarters is the PGA Tour. They perform tirelessly for us to enjoy the financial rewards and have all the prospects that we have. At the very same time, I am a single of 200-plus customers of the PGA Tour. I am the PGA Tour, just as 200 other members are the PGA Tour, so when you consider pictures at the PGA Tour and Jay Monahan, you’re not just taking shots at them, you are having shots at us.”

Fifteen-time PGA Tour winner Justin Thomas exposed throughout a latest podcast this week that the concern of opportunity litigation is something that fueled his particular thoughts towards the predicament.
“They’re expressing that I’m sure at some level, you know, some sort of lawsuits will be likely, and if any of people fellas that remaining to go enjoy the other tour sue the [PGA] Tour, they are suing me, they’re suing Rory [McIlroy], they are suing Tiger [Woods], they are suing each individual single a single of us that they’ve appeared in the encounter … So like, to me, that is in which a tiny bit of the betrayal and the upsetting and unhappy emotions occur from.”
