Corgi survived shot to the head in Pennsylvania: ‘lucky to be alive’

r suffered a blow to the head, he crawled underneath a fence to a family farm in Lancaster County. Arthur was identified at the farm on July 14 and the Pennsylvania Culture for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PSPCA) was called. 

He was weathered and flea-bitten, and the relatives assumed the harm on his head was from the fence, but veterinarians later identified it as a bullet wound. On July 18, the pooch was taken to Mainline Animal Rescue, a PSPCA affiliate.

The PSPCA shared the news of Arthur’s restoration on social media.

“Arthur is blessed to be alive. And that is not an understatement. He was shot amongst the eyes and seemingly left for lifeless,” the agency wrote on Instagram.

Veterinarians had cleaned the wound and took x-rays, and identified it was a gunshot wound between his eyes.

“Arthur had been shot at an angle that miraculously missed his mind,” the PSPCA wrote. “The bullet left a hole in Arthur’s head & brought about harm to his airway passages and mouth. He was coated in fleas, experienced ear bacterial infections and was anemic. But, he was alive.” 

The PSPCA Humane Regulation Enforcement crew is investigating the incident.

It was not crystal clear who shot the animal, but his prior proprietors have been ruled out as suspects. The PSPCA thinks the suspected shooter resides in Lancaster County.

The prior homeowners, who run a breeding operation, produced the corgi to the agency’s treatment. The pet dog is now identified as “Arthur, The Survivor.”

Arthur has been being in the clinic receiving cure with antibiotics.

The organization reported it remains hopeful that Arthur would make a comprehensive recovery, but there are continue to bullet fragments in his wound that might involve specialty treatment. 

The PSPCA described him as “the most mild and friendliest boy.”

“Every person enjoys him, and we’ve figured out that he loves chicken nuggets. We have a sensation he’ll be acquiring a Good deal of people,” the agency wrote.
