A Houston-spot gentleman been given a 45-12 months jail sentence Thursday for the broad daylight killing of his neighbor in her yard as she stood with her pet dog. 

Hector Arturo Campos, 48, was convicted of killing 53-calendar year-outdated Ana Weed on Jan. 24, 2017 in the suburb of Spring. The neighbors had been associated in a feud that commenced when Weed took Campos’ then-wife and newborn daughter to the airport so they could travel to Mexico. 

That angered Campos, who submitted for divorce soon right after, authorities claimed. Loved ones associates mentioned Campos was abusive to his wife and did not allow her go away their dwelling, G3 Box News Houston described.

“Hector Campos is a violent and vengeful male who killed his neighbor basically since they did not get together,” Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg stated. “Ana Weed, a loving spouse, mother and grandmother, is lifeless and her spouse and children is devastated mainly because an angry gentleman with a gun could not handle himself.”

Months just after his wife left him, Campos was in his driveway washing his truck when he confronted Weed in her lawn about his ex-spouse and daughter. 

As they started arguing, Weed’s tiny pet got absent and barked at Campos, prosecutors said. Campos experimented with kicking the pet. Weed, who experienced been wrapping a reward for her grandson was holding a roll of crystal clear tape. 

When she attempted to retrieve the animal, Campos pulled out a gun and shot her, Ogg mentioned. 

He later instructed investigators that Weed pushed him and motioned as though she was likely to wrap a duration of tape around his neck to choke him.
