Gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixon (R-MI) spoke out against the leadership of the Michigan Republican Party after her defeat to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI).

Dixon tweeted a synopsis, which was allegedly from the Michigan Republican Party assessing the reason the party lost the election, saying, “This is the perfect example of what is wrong with the [the Michigan GOP].”

Dixon placed the blame for Republicans’ abysmal night in the Great Lake State on party leadership after she lost to Whitmer by nearly 10% and the party lost control of the state Senate for the first time since the 1980s.

“It’s easy to come out and point fingers now, but the truth is they fought against me every step of the way and put the entire ticket at risk. We need fresh leadership at the [Michigan GOP], or Republicans will never have a voice in Michigan again,” Dixon said in a follow-up tweet.

Dixon’s loss Tuesday was part of the GOP’s lackluster performance in races nationwide, leading to scrutiny of Republican leaders and other key individuals in the party, such as former President Donald Trump.

The Washington Examiner reached out to the Michigan Republican Party for comment.
