Ukraine has granted citizenship to a Russian journalist who fled the nation after being accused by the Kremlin of spreading “intentionally false data” about Moscow’s armed forces, a report says.
Alexander Nevzorov, who left Russia along with his spouse in March, is now a citizen of Ukraine, a senior official there informed Reuters on Friday.
“I take the aspect of the sufferer. And I’m rattling grateful to these tormented, determined, bloodied individuals of Ukraine who allowed me to take my place amongst them,” Nevzorov reportedly mentioned in a Telegram submit.
Russian state investigators, based on Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, claimed that “on March 9, on [Nevzorov’s] public web page within the social community Instagram banned in Russia and on March 19 on YouTube, he printed intentionally false details about the deliberate shelling of a maternity hospital within the metropolis of Mariupol by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.”
